Kobe Bryant has spent his entire NBA career with one team and one team only, the Los Angeles Lakers. During the first half of his career he wore the number 8 and after the 2005-2006 season he changed to his current number of 24. This new pair does that, using the area on the heel reserved for symbols conveying the theme to call out the numbers he’s worn with the Lakers. Those numbers are flanked by icons indicating the three titles he won while wearing 8 and the three titles and, presumably, the two NBA Finals MVP awards he won while wearing 24.
With the Nike Kobe 11 being the final signature shoe that Kobe Bryant will be wearing on the court, Nike has decided to create a special colorway that honors the past as well as the present of Kobe. This upcoming colorway of the Kobe 11 features the numbers 8 and 24 on the heel of the right shoe along with some icons that may represent the five NBA Championships and the two NBA Finals MVP awards that he captured along the way. The upper of this Kobe 11 is done in a purple to black gradient with white detailing on the Swoosh and Kobe logo on the tongue.
This special edition Nike Kobe 11 is dressed in a Hyper Grape, White, Black, University Gold, and Bright Crimson color scheme. The shoe features a full Hyper Grape Nike Flyknit base with Black detailing and includes “8:24” on the heel, with the other heel sporting the Red stitching. Finishing off the look is an icy outsole to complete the premium styled Kobe 11.
