A Nike Kobe 11 EM Sunset edition appears to be on the retail horizon, a follow-up of sorts to the “Sunset” option that hit the Kobe 11 iD earlier this year. This Nike Kobe 11 resembles the “Asteroid” Nike Air Foamposite Pro from 2013. The shoe receives a colorful sunset-inspired gradient fade effect covering the shoe’s Engineered Mesh upper blending together a variety of colors like Yellow, Orange, Red and Purple. Other features include Black detailing that sits atop a clear translucent outsole. Colorfully conspicuous, the Kobe 11’s engineered mesh upper starts out yellow on the toe, channeling the blazing sun. That transitions into orange — dusk — through the midfoot, meanwhile, finishing with purple — the moonlit night sky — around the heel.
As suggested, the basketball sneaker’s engineered mesh upper is treated in a gradient effect that reflective of the sunset. Bright yellow is prominent on the toe, which fades to orange on the medial, followed by red and purple on the rear. Tonal black accents for the inner lining, laces, tongue and Swooshes provide a nice sense of contrast, as it all rests atop a complementing translucent outsole.
